Ephesians: Week 19
What does it mean to truly work with purpose? In a world where we often define ourselves by our job titles and career achievements, this message challenges us to rethink everything. Drawing from Ephesians 6:5-9, we are invited into a radical reimagining of what it means to show up in our workplaces, our homes, and our daily routines. The passage addresses slaves and masters in the context of first-century Ephesus, and while the cultural gap between then and now is real, the spiritual principle cuts right through time and lands squarely in our Monday morning reality. When we understand that everything belongs to Jesus and therefore everything matters, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The cubicle, the job site, the classroom, the kitchen, none of it is outside the reach of kingdom purpose. We are not just employees or managers or retirees. We are people on assignment. And that changes everything about how we carry ourselves, how we treat the people around us, and how we respond when no one is watching. This is not a call to passive compliance but to active, heart-driven engagement with whatever God has placed in front of us.
