Ephesians: Week 21

What does it mean to truly stand equipped in a spiritual battle we cannot see with our eyes? This message takes us deep into Ephesians 6, where Paul lays out the full armor of God, and we begin unpacking two foundational pieces: the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness. Truth, rooted not in personal opinion but in the unchanging character of God, is what holds everything together. And righteousness, when anchored in that truth, protects our hearts and shapes how we engage with the world around us. But here is the sobering insight: righteousness unhinged from truth quietly becomes self-righteousness, and self-righteousness isolates us from the very people we are called to love. We are challenged to examine what we are actually standing on, and whether the convictions we carry are rooted in relationship with Jesus or in rules we have built around ourselves. The armor is not decorative. It is for a real battle. And the invitation is to put it on today, not one day.
