Katie  Basden Mims

Worship Leader

With deep roots in Durham, North Carolina, Southern Americana artist and worship leader Katie Basden (BAYZ-den) Mims was raised in a home where music and ministry were woven into everyday life. Growing up in a family of ministers, she gave her life to Christ at just seven years old. From an early age, she understood the beauty of serving the Lord, but it wasn’t until her 30s that she truly felt the unmistakable call into ministry for herself.

Music has always been a gift in Katie’s life. Surrounded by diverse influences, she began pursuing that gift at 15 years old. At 18, she stepped out in faith and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. She later gained national recognition as a Top 20 finalist on NBC’s The Voice, where she shared her talent on a global stage under the mentorship of Blake Shelton, after initially working with Adam Levine. Her original song “Gypsy Prophet” went on to win Best Country Video Performance in American Songwriter Magazine’s 30th Anniversary Song Contest, further highlighting her unique blend of country, soul, rock, and blues.

Yet accolades have never been the destination.

Today, Katie is more passionate than ever about discipling and leading others. Alongside her husband, Cavanaugh Mims, she joyfully serves at The Warehouse Fellowship, where she leads a team of gifted musicians and production staff each week. Her heart is to create space for authentic, Spirit-led worship moments where people can encounter the presence of Jesus in a real and transformative way.

More than performing, Katie’s calling is to shepherd, to encourage, equip, and pour into her team, and to use her voice to point others toward hope, healing, and the love of Christ. What once began as a love for music has grown into a deep passion for ministry, and she is more than thrilled to be serving the local church and watching God move in and through her community.
