Ephesians: Week 8

The gospel didn't come to us just to sit comfortably within us—it came through us on its way to someone else. This powerful truth challenges us to examine whether we've bottled up our faith or are allowing it to flow outward. Drawing from Ephesians chapter 3, we're invited into Paul's profound prayer that asks God to strengthen us with power in our inner being, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith, and that we might comprehend the immeasurable dimensions of God's love. But here's the transformative part: what if we actually prayed this prayer for others? For the friend going through hardship, for the business partner who betrayed us, for the spouse who frustrated us, or even for the person who wounded us deeply? When we take Scripture off the page and apply it to real relationships and circumstances, our hearts begin to change. Forgiveness becomes possible. Bitterness loses its grip. We discover that being part of God's greater story means showing up—like the church members who served in a Muslim man's restaurant when he was short-staffed, opening doors that would eventually lead his son to faith. We're challenged to be a church that shows up, that tips well, that serves without expecting recognition, because we never know how God will use our simple acts of faithfulness to advance His kingdom.
