Ephesians: Week 3

At the heart of this powerful message lies a transformative question: when God looks at us, does He see His seal? Drawing from Ephesians 1:3-14, we're reminded that being sealed by God means we are confirmed, authenticated, and placed beyond doubt as His beloved children. This isn't about earning our position through good works or religious performance—it's about recognizing what's already ours in Christ. The early church in Ephesus understood this radical truth so deeply that it shook their entire culture. They weren't just slightly improved versions of themselves; they were radically changed people who burned their old books of magic, sacrificed what held them captive, and stepped into their true identity as saints. The passage challenges us to examine whether we're living like people who have been radically transformed or merely improved. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen before the foundation of the earth, adopted as sons and daughters, redeemed, forgiven, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. This isn't future hope alone—it's present reality. The question becomes: are we living from this identity, or are we still striving to earn what's already been freely given? When we truly grasp that we are 'in Him,' everything changes—our worship becomes a lifestyle, our generosity flows naturally, and our presence in the world begins to shake and shape the culture around us.
