Ephesians: Week 6
This powerful message centers on Ephesians 2, exploring the profound truth that we are not just slightly improved versions of ourselves, but radically transformed people through Christ. The passage confronts us with the stark reality that we were once dead in our trespasses and sins, but God, rich in mercy and great in love, has made us alive in Christ. The sermon uses the Berlin Wall as a striking metaphor for the dividing walls in our lives - walls of sin, church hurt, unforgiveness, and bondage that separate us from God and others. Just as that physical wall came down in 1989, Christ has torn down the dividing wall of hostility through His death on the cross. We learn that Jesus is our cornerstone, the foundation upon which our entire lives must be built. When we align ourselves to Him in every dimension, we set a pattern that transforms us into His image. The message challenges us to stop leaning against our walls of pain and division, to confess honestly at the table with our Heavenly Father who already knows our story, and to walk in the reconciliation and peace that only comes through being 'in Him.' This is not about self-improvement but about supernatural transformation that changes us eternally.
