What happens when we stop polishing ourselves up and allow God to see the broken foundation beneath? This powerful message centers on Ephesians 3 and the mystery revealed through Christ—that we are not merely improved versions of ourselves, but entirely new creations. We witness the beautiful reality of baptism, not as a ritual that saves, but as a proclamation of a relationship already established with Jesus. The truth cuts through religious performance: we cannot earn salvation through works, church attendance, or following a list of rules. Like a house built on a faulty foundation, sometimes God must do the painful work of lifting us up, removing what's broken, and rebuilding us on the solid cornerstone of Christ. The mystery Paul spoke of to the Ephesians 2,000 years ago continues to unfold today—that through faith in Jesus, we become co-heirs, members of the same body, partners in an eternal promise. This isn't about being good neighbors or reliable workers; it's about encountering the consuming fire of God's presence and allowing Him to transform everything. When we surrender our desperate attempts at self-improvement and simply say 'yes' to Jesus, we step into the incalculable riches of Christ and discover that our righteousness comes not from our merit, but from His all-sufficient sacrifice.
